The Employer Check Process
The process, usually, starts with verifying an applicant’s name, address, and other personal details. Verification may also include checking the financial accounts summary, and a check with the county court judgment to see any existence of insolvency, court decrees or bankruptcy on the part of the employee. It also involves checking for alias names which may have been used, verification of birth date with other existing referencing databases, as well as credit check for the last six months.
Recruitment teams of companies resort to this type of employer check as part of the standard process. After such, they will then decide whether or not you are qualified for the job. These checks may reveal information about a potential employee. This is why it is important to provide honest personal information. Reports can include things such as social security registration number, background and history of the employee. These records often come from government agencies.
Third Party Employer Check
Most of the time, an employer check service is performed by a third party service. These providers work in checking the background of a potential employee in behalf of the company itself. If the company finds information, which is not true about the employee, it will be forwarded to the company right away. This phase should be completed before decision making on the part of the company as to whether or not an employee is accepted. Also, upon receiving the report, the company also needs to double check on the information, performing their own check should these instances come up.
An employer check service is very important in order for the company to know more about the character of a specific applicant. This is just the start, however. As a matter of fact, companies do not really completely depend on this information alone. Other things such as employee credibility, skills, attitude, and other things are also considered during the recruitment process.
However, having a qualified employee based on the background check is a good starting point.
Every company should take this phase seriously as this can impact the overall productivity of the company. Hiring the best people for various positions is one way of making sure that the company performs the way it is expected to do, thus providing the assurance that company goals are also met.
